At Palmer Home for Children, we believe in providing a loving and nurturing environment for every child in our care. As part of our commitment to their well-being, we recently hosted a “Back to School Bash” at our Lake Cormorant campus. This event was made even more special thanks to the generous support of the DeSoto Civic Garden Club, who went above and beyond to ensure that each child had the necessary supplies to start the school year with confidence.

We express our deepest gratitude for the 27 backpacks donated as part of our annual “Back to School Bash” and the positive influence the DeSoto Civic Garden Club has had on these young lives.

Palmer Home’s Back to School Bash

The “Back to School Bash” organized by Palmer Home for Children is an annual event that marks the beginning of a new academic year for the children under their care. It’s a day filled with excitement, anticipation, and a sense of community. The goal is to create a positive and encouraging environment for the children, fostering a love for learning and providing them with the tools they need to succeed.

For many children, a backpack is more than just a practical item; it symbolizes readiness, preparedness, and a sense of belonging. It’s a vessel that carries not only school supplies but also the hopes and dreams of a brighter future. The DeSoto Civic Garden Club recognized the significance of these backpacks and generously provided 27 of them for the children at Palmer Home’s Lake Cormorant campus.

The impact of the DeSoto Civic Garden Club’s generosity goes beyond the material aspect of backpacks. It sends a powerful message to the children that their community cares about their education and well-being. These backpacks are not merely school supplies; they represent a community coming together to support and uplift its youngest members.

On behalf of Palmer Home for Children, we extend our deepest gratitude to the DeSoto Civic Garden Club. Your kindness and generosity have touched the lives of these children in a profound way. The backpacks you provided will not only carry books and stationery but also the collective goodwill of a community that believes in the potential and promise of every child.

As the “Back to School Bash” unfolds and the children eagerly embark on a new academic year, they do so with a tangible reminder that they are supported and cherished by their community. The DeSoto Civic Garden Club’s contribution has made a lasting impact on these young lives, instilling a sense of confidence and hope for the future. Together, we can continue to create a nurturing environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. Thank you, DeSoto Civic Garden Club, for being an essential part of this journey.

In addition to providing backpacks for the Back to School Bash, the DeSoto Civic Garden Club provided gift cards to fund Thanksgiving meals for each cottage on Palmer Home’s campus. We are so grateful for their support.
