The Heart of Our Home
The Dr. Hugh Francis, Jr. Wellness Center is a 25,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that welcomes all to Palmer Home.
With classrooms, counseling suites, therapy rooms and recreational areas, the Wellness Center provides a space for hope and healing in accordance with our Whole Child Initiative. It also serves a space for community gatherings and events that engage the public without compromising the privacy or security of the children in our care.
Who is Dr. Hugh Francis, Jr.?
Dr. Hugh Francis, Jr. was a faithful friend and servant to Palmer Home for Children since 1968. His personal commitment to the scriptural mandate to care for children led him to Palmer Home and our mission to provide care for every child who needs hope.
Therapy & Academic Support
Counseling suites, art therapy rooms, classrooms, and meeting spaces are designed to help vulnerable children and teens thrive. Each child in our care receives the individualized care they need to help them achieve their goals and reach their fullest potential, from therapists and counselors to mentors and tutors.
Caring for the Whole Child
Children with a history of trauma have unique physical, emotional, social, educational, and spiritual needs. Our Wellness Center seeks to provide a space to address these needs so true healing can begin.
Recreation and play are proven to reduce symptoms of depression and anger, create opportunities for problem solving, enhance self-image and sense of self-worth, and create a feeling of accomplishment. The wellness center’s indoor basketball court and gymnasium, outdoor pool, and veranda offer a relaxing, therapeutic environment for hope and healing.
Fund Their Fun
Every child deserves a chance to play, to have fun, and to just be a kid. Help us provide a chance for the children we serve to have fun. With a donation to Palmer Home's Fund Their Fun campaign, your donation directly supports extracurricular activities such as dance, music lessons, soccer, t-ball, and more.
