Donating your gently used items to Palmer Thrift Stores just got easier. When the Palmer Thrift Store Donation Center on Highway 45 opens in early December, residents and employees located in North Columbus will be able to drop off their donations without making the trip across town.

Thrift Store staff will be available at the new location in front of Belk to collect donations and issue receipts 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

“We’re processing a lot of donations and saw an opportunity to expand into the Northern part of Columbus,” said Nathan Katona, Auxiliary Business Manager.

Donations of almost anything may be made at the new donation center in North Columbus or at Palmer Thrift Store locations in both Columbus and Starkville. The Thrift Store continues to need donations of gently used items, however, they are not able to accept used mattresses,  box springs, televisions or non-working appliances.

Thrift Store donations and purchases help fund the operations of Palmer Home for Children where over 100 children are cared for each day on two campuses. Now through the Corners of Your Field program, which began earlier this year, donations also assist community members in need through church outreach.

Donations of large pieces of furniture or more than 10 boxes or bags may be scheduled for pick up online through pickupmydonation.com. Enter your zip code on the website to see if you quality for pick-up by Palmer Thrift Stores.

In the meantime, visit our Starkville or Columbus thrift store locations, and drop your gently used items off at our new Hwy 45 donation center- now open!
