About Skylake Construction
Sky Lake Construction founders Jerry and Jackie McBride opened the family-owned and operated business in 2010. Their mission is to build affordable homes with high-end amenities so Mississippi families can enjoy a safe and welcoming home.
Jerry was introduced to Palmer Home in 2018 after attending that year’s Mudbug Bash event. He was drawn to our dedication to caring for children and families, and Sky Lake has been an incredible supporter of our mission ever since.
Beyond sponsoring Mudbug Bash since 2019, Sky Lake has given back to the children at Palmer Home in various ways. One year, the company surprised the children on the Palmer Home campus with brand new bicycles. This past Christmas, Sky Lake gifted kayaks for the children to enjoy on the on-campus lake.
“Palmer Home has a long tradition and great reputation of helping young people,” says McBride. “Sky Lake Construction and the McBride family feel blessed to have the opportunity to be associated with such a great, Christian mission.”
Since its inception in 2004, Mudbug Bash has raised more than $800,000 for Palmer Home’s mission and has grown into one of the most anticipated events in the Hernando area. For six straight years, it was voted the No. 1 charity event by DeSoto’s Best.
Palmer Home is grateful to Sky Lake Construction and all of our incredible partners who help us say ‘yes’ to children who need our help. To learn more about opportunities to partner with Palmer Home through events and programming, please contact development@palmerhome.org.
