At Christmas, All is Bright at Palmer Home
In a year filled with uncertainty, my hope is that this Christmas will shine all the brighter. The darkness of 2020 has made me that much more grateful for Palmer Home and our mission to bring hope, joy and peace to vulnerable children and families.
At Palmer Home, we are blessed to have the opportunity to positively impact children’s lives year-round, but at no time is this more evident than the Advent season. Christmas is a big deal at Palmer Home: there are sparkling lights and glittering trees, warm fires flanked by fuzzy stockings, beautifully wrapped gifts and all the cookies and sweets one can imagine.
Yet, at the center of it all, is Jesus. We read the story of His birth, sing carols and hymns, create nativities, and talk about what His birth means to us as believers.
For some children in our care, it’s the first time Christmas has ever been special. Seeing their faces as they take in the wonder is nothing short of magical.
In this season of giving, please consider donating to Palmer Home. The pandemic is rapidly increasing the need for our services, and we are preparing to care for nearly 30% more children and families next year.
Since March, we’ve welcomed more than 30 new children into our care – children like siblings Brian* (15), Jessica* (10), Lauren* (6) and Trevor* (5). It would have been virtually impossible for these siblings to stay together had it not been for Palmer Home. After years of crisis, each child is now growing in confidence and trust in their loving, stable home on our campus.
Because of your generosity, we can give these siblings and many others the medical care, educational support and magical Christmas that all children deserve. We can give them hope and set them and their families on a path to a better future.
We are so grateful for your continued support of Palmer Home. Thank you for helping bring joy, peace, and Christ – the true meaning of Christmas – into children’s lives.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year,
Drake
