Celebrating 90 Years Alongside Longtime Supporter Tower Loan
Tower Loan, based in Flowood, the largest consumer finance company in the state, has grown remarkably quickly in its 90-year history. CEO Francis C. Lee said a balance between tradition and forward thinking has guided the company through growth that now includes operating a network of 266 locations across eight states, employing about 950 people, and serving more than 250,000 customers per year.
A consumer finance company serves a different role than a traditional bank. While banks typically focus on customers with established credit profiles and longer approval timelines, companies like Tower Loan are designed to provide access to credit for individuals who may not qualify through traditional channels or who need funds more quickly. Reaching 90 years in the consumer finance industry is rare. The industry has seen significant consolidation over time, with many companies being acquired, restructured, or disappearing altogether.
“Here at Tower Loan, we’re really in the ‘people business.’ From behind the scenes at our corporate office to the smiling faces in operations, we have a total commitment to excellence in all endeavors,” said Kristin Johnson, an Associate Director of Operations now based in Louisiana, and a graduate of the University of Mississippi who is originally from Taylorsville, Mississippi. “We have a unique advantage over our competitors because we can train our team members to tap into our customer base and meet our people where they are. That’s why customers choose us.”
Tower Loan also has an impact that extends beyond lending. Tower Loan has long supported organizations such as Palmer Home for Children, reflecting its long-standing commitment to supporting the communities it serves.
“For the past nine years, Tower Loan has been a remarkable partner in Palmer Home’s mission to care for children and families in need,” said Palmer Home CEO, Drake Bassett. “Through the generosity of its employees and customers, Tower Loan has raised more than $235,000 in support of Palmer Home. That support has made a lasting impact on the children entrusted to us. Thanks to partners like Tower Loan, we can continue saying ‘yes’ to children who need a loving, safe home, a place where they can heal, find peace, and experience the support and stability of a family.”
