Palmer School is back in session, and this school year, our students will benefit from art, music, library, STEM, and physical education enrichment classes sponsored by a grant from the Phil Hardin Foundation. These classes are taught by certified teachers and are thoughtfully designed to enhance the educational experience of students on our campus.

At Palmer School, our team provides one-on-one academic support to children who need additional support, enhanced tutoring to meet state testing requirements, and/or help navigating social and emotional dynamics in the classroom. These new programs represent our commitment to nurturing not only the minds but also the imaginations, hearts, and bodies of the children in our care.

Art Classes

We believe every child is an artist. Art classes provide students with a creative outlet to explore their imaginations, develop their artistic skills, and express their unique perspectives through various mediums. Whether painting, drawing, or working with mixed media, art classes can inspire creativity and build confidence in their artistic abilities.

Music Classes

Music education is known to enhance cognitive development and emotional well-being, and we are excited to see how our children will flourish as they explore the art of making music together. Through hands-on instruction in singing, instrument playing, and even basic music theory, students are learning to appreciate the power of music as a form of expression and communication.

Library Enrichment Classes

The Palmer School’s library includes hundreds of titles of fiction and nonfiction of very genres. This enhanced library enrichment program will teach students how to navigate library resources at both the Palmer School and at their public libraries, so they can make the most of the opportunity to learn, read, and thrive both in the classroom and in their future endeavors.

STEM Classes

STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) enrichment classes are designed to teach students technical, scientific, and mathematical concepts but in fun and engaging ways. STEM projects and lesson plans provide an important basis of knowledge in areas that help young minds comprehend complex topics while opening the door to a variety of future career opportunities.

PE Classes

Physical education classes emphasize the importance of physical fitness and healthy living, particularly for those on a journey to hope and healing. These classes are designed not only to keep the children active but also to teach them the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance. Through games, exercises, and sports, children develop coordination, strength, and endurance in an environment that encourages playfulness and positive social interaction.

How to Support Palmer School

These enrichment classes are more than just activities—they are vital components of a holistic education that aims to support every aspect of a child’s development. By engaging in art, music, library, STEM, and physical education, students at Palmer School will have the opportunity to discover their talents, build self-esteem, and develop a love for learning that will serve them well throughout their lives.
