Palmer Home for Children Hires Director of Development, Sarah Hollis

Columbus, Mississippi – Palmer Home for Children is pleased to announce that Sarah Hollis has accepted the role of Director of Development. Sarah will be responsible for raising operational funds to support Palmer Home’s Whole Child Initiative, a philosophy that encompasses programs such as education and counseling. She will also work on the organization’s capital campaign, which will expand Palmer Home’s Hernando campus. Phase 1 of the campaign will see a wellness center and five new cottages. Ultimately, this campus will be able to serve 100 children.

“Sarah brings years of fantastic development experience to the Palmer Home team and a skill set perfectly suited to further our mission,” said Joshua Whelan, Vice President of Development at Palmer Home for Children. “Her passion for helping children is a personal driving force behind her desire to work at Palmer Home.”

Hollis holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from The University of Alabama and a master’s degree in journalism from The University of Mississippi.

Before joining Palmer Home for Children, Sarah served as the Assistant Director in the Office of Development at The University of Mississippi. She brings extensive experience in prospect management and strategy to her new position at Palmer Home for Children.

“We are thrilled to have Sarah join our team,” said Drake Bassett, President and CEO of Palmer Home for Children. “Her experience with Ole Miss combined with her passion for children will help Palmer Home reach many more young lives. We believe in recruiting great people and I have every confidence Sarah will exceed our expectations.”
