Palmer Home Thrift Stores offer customers great values on gently used furniture, clothing, and numerous other items.
Palmer Home Thrift Stores came about as a result of the overwhelming generosity of the people throughout Mississippi and surrounding states. 100% of the profits from the thrift stores are used for programs that benefit the children in our care. All items donated are filtered to fill the needs of the children in our care before being used as sale items.
There are numerous volunteer opportunities available at the thrift store in Columbus and the thrift store in Starkville. If you are interested in volunteering at any of these locations, schedule a shift here.
Collect gently used items and have a yard sale as a fundraiser for Palmer Home or donate the items to the Palmer Home Thrift Store. Please drop off items at our Columbus or Starkville locations.
We are grateful for all donated items; however, we cannot accept:
- Stained or soiled items
- Old or non-working electronics
- Non-working appliances
- Pianos or pool tables
- Used mattresses
- Computers or CRT monitors
- Console TVs
- Baby beds, car seats or mattress foundations
Corners of Your Field
What is Corners of Your Field?
Corners of Your Field is a partnership opportunity between local churches and Palmer Home for Children. Corners of Your Field encourages members of your church to be intentional about selecting their gently used clothing and household items for donation to Palmer Thrift Stores. The stores then return a portion of the value of these items in the form of Palmer Home thrift store gift cards to your church to be used to help those directly in your care.
How does Corners of Your Field help my church?
Corners of Your Field gives your church a practical way to meet the Biblical mandate of caring for those in need and gives you a plan to do so. Corners of Your Field puts resources, beginning with gift cards to Palmer Thrift Stores, in the hands of every partner church. Many partners use the gift cards as part of their existing benevolence ministries. We recognize you know the needs of your community better than we do and want to equip you to make a difference.
How does the church partnership work?
- Individuals or families donate their gently used items to Palmer Thrift Stores.
- The Palmer Thrift Store employee serving them will ask the name of your church.
- Quarterly, your church will receive gift cards to Palmer Thrift Stores that can be given to anyone who comes to your church in need.
- And, donors are still able to take advantage of the tax-deduction with every gift made to Palmer Thrift Stores.
How do I get my church involved?
