Cedar Hill Farm & Palmer Home Partner to Host Fireworks on the Farm

What do a 120-acre working farm and a privately-owned finance company have in common? They’re both amazing supporters of Palmer Home, and proof that anyone – and any business – can support our mission while benefiting their organization.

Located a few miles from our campus in Hernando, Cedar Hill Farm grows produce, raises animals and hosts seasonal events like a pumpkin patch and Christmas tree farm. It’s also a dedicated supporter of Palmer Home, and its annual Fireworks on the Farm event has become not only a major attraction for Cedar Hill Farm but a top fundraiser for Palmer Home.

“Fireworks on the Farm has grown into an awesome success, raising nearly $60,000 for Palmer Home since it began,” says Amanda Crawford, senior director of development at Palmer Home. “We love inviting the community to Cedar Hill Farm for this beloved event which gives back to children in need.”

2021 Fireworks on the Farm

This year’s event, held during Labor Day Weekend, was the 10th consecutive year of Fireworks on the Farm. What began as a small event in 2012 has evolved into a major attraction that draws hundreds of families from across Mississippi and the Memphis metro area.

The evening begins with farm activities such as a petting zoo, chicken show and pony rides. There’s also a playground, zip lines, live music and fresh cooked food for the whole family to enjoy. After the sun goes down, the fireworks begin and families enjoy the show. All proceeds from the event go directly to Palmer Home. It’s an evening for families to enjoy together while giving back to children and families in need.

Headquartered nearly 200 miles south of Cedar Hill Farm in Flowood, Mississippi, Tower Loan is supporting the children of Palmer Home in another unique way. The finance company has grown to span six states and more than 200 locations, with more than 700 team members serving over 200,000 customers.

Five years ago, Tower Loan initiated an annual campaign to engage their employees and offer their customers the opportunity to support our mission through monetary donations. The company even has a banner at the top of their website during the campaign that links to an online giving page. The campaign has been a huge success, and to date has raised more than $200,000 for Palmer Home.

“We look forward to partnering with Tower Loan every year,” adds Crawford. “The campaign isa great opportunity for their employees to support vulnerable children, and for Tower Loan customers to learn their corporate values first-hand. This year was especially exciting, as more than $80,000 was raised for the children at Palmer Home.”
