Celebrating Moms
This Mother’s Day, we are reminded of the incredible strength, love, and resilience embodied by mothers everywhere.
Motherhood is one of the most difficult roles any individual can take on. At Palmer Home, we support mothers and the overwhelming pressures they face each and every day. This is not limited to mothers who enjoy the privilege of seeing their children daily.
Whether a mother is struggling to make ends meet for her children and reaches out to us to help provide the support she and her family need to thrive or she is facing incarceration and hoping for a lifeline of kindness and a second chance, we hold a special place in our hearts for mothers.
This Mother’s Day, we celebrate moms like Katie. Like many of the women we serve, Katie was first introduced to Palmer Home Family Care while incarcerated. Katie was ultimately released from prison when the twins were eight months old. Our Family Care team helped Katie get a room at Renewal House, a nonprofit that helps women and their children get back on their feet.

Today, Katie’s twins, a boy and a girl, are four years old. Katie is enrolled in school, working full-time, and saving money to buy a home for her family. Katie also has a 15-year-old son, who she says was also served by our Family Care staff.
Biological, adoptive, and foster mothers all play an invaluable role in the lives of the children we serve. Their love knows no bounds, their sacrifices are endless, and their presence brings warmth and light to our homes.
This Mother’s Day, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all the mothers in our Palmer Home family. Your love, dedication, and unwavering support make a profound difference in the lives of the children entrusted to our care. Your kindness and compassion create a sense of belonging and security that every child deserves.
