2024 Shotguns & Sunflowers Soiree Presented by Simmons Bank Raises $275k for Palmer Home
The 2024 Shotguns & Sunflowers Soiree, presented by Simmons Bank, marked another milestone for Palmer Home for Children, raising an impressive $275,000 in support of its mission to provide hope and healing to vulnerable children.
Held at the historic Memphis Country Club, the annual event brought together generous supporters, local businesses, and passionate advocates, all united by a common cause—to make a lasting difference in the lives of children.
The event featured a live auction, gourmet southern cuisine, and live entertainment that kept attendees engaged throughout the night.
One of the highlights of the evening was the Help Hope Grows portion of the event, where guests generously gave from the heart to support various aspects of Palmer Home’s mission.
In return for their donation, guests were invited to take home fresh flowers in a pot hand-decorated by children at Palmer Home. This portion of the evening raised more than $25,000.
Thanks to the support of presenting sponsor Simmons Bank, this year’s Shotguns & Sunflowers Soiree raised vital funds needed to support children in need.
The $275,000 raised will go directly toward funding Palmer Home’s wide array of services, which include Campus Care, Foster Care, Family Care, Transitional Care, and the Hope Grows Garden, which fosters physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. These programs provide vulnerable children with the stability, love, and guidance they need to thrive, breaking the cycle of trauma and creating opportunities for a brighter future.
Palmer Home’s CEO Drake Bassett expressed gratitude to the attendees and sponsors who helped make this year’s event such a success. “Each year, Shotguns & Sunflowers reminds us of the power of community,” they said. “The funds raised will go directly to changing the lives of children who have experienced unimaginable hardships, and we are so thankful for the generosity of our supporters who share our mission to provide hope and healing.”
The Shotguns & Sunflowers Soiree stands as a testament to the unwavering support of Palmer Home’s community. With the funds raised, Palmer Home will continue its mission to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each child in their care.
An exciting live auction sponsored by HHM CPAs featured a Masters Golf Tournament experience, floor seats to a Memphis Grizzlies game, a golf outing at Memphis Country Club, and more which raised thousands for children in need of hope and healing.
Meanwhile, a bourbon pull sponsored by Roadshow BMW also raised more than $3,600 for children in need at Palmer Home, while the silent auction contributed $37,700 to Palmer Home’s mission.
In addition to the generous sponsors mentioned above, we are grateful for the following brands who donated services to make this event spectacular:
- DirectFX Solutions, for print needs
- Garden District for stunning floral arrangements
- Nothing Bundt Cakes for delicious sunflower-themed desserts
- Nolan Audio Video for technical support and setup
