Position Summary

Organization: Founded in 1895, the mission of Palmer Home for Children is to reflect the hope and love of Christ by providing a stable, long-term Christ-centered home for children who lack an adequate family structure.

Position: Reporting to the Director of Facilities / Operations this position is responsible for performing preventive and active maintenance work to campus property and buildings as well as other Palmer Home for Children off site assets that may need maintenance attention from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of assets to include buildings and other assets that pertain to daily operations as determined by Director.

  • Perform regular maintenance duties as set forth by supervisor to include painting, drywall repair, appliance repair, and plumbing but not limited to said duties.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Verifiable maintenance experience and successful work history.
  • Ability to work independently to carry out assignments to completion.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job duties related to this position.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk distances of 1 mile + per workday.
  • Willing to submit to pre-employment health / drug screening and background check.
  • Willingness to work with cattle, horses if necessary and monitor children in the work program.
  • Must be in agreement with the Palmer Home for Children Statement of Christian Beliefs and demonstrate a strong commitment to Christ consistent with the mission of Palmer Home status as a non-profit religious organization.
